Individualized Attention
Our initial evaluation for Learning Disabilities takes two to three hours and determines the input areas to the brain that are not functioning well enough to allow personal success. Using parent report materials and standardized testing, the evaluator analyzes auditory and visual processing functions, attention and focus skills, overall processing speed, academic ability, expressive vocabulary knowledge and the brain’s ability to coordinate and recall information. This evaluation is modified based on the individual’s needs. The goal of the evaluation is to determine the reasons the individual is not performing at their fullest potential. The typical person we help is an individual who has an average IQ or higher, one who is working overly hard at school, who can’t always stay focused and is becoming more and more discouraged or anxious.
Our complete dyslexia evaluation takes approximately four hours and is a very in-depth battery of tests that provides us with detailed information concerning dyslexia. These results allow us to plan a detailed strategy for treatment and to seek accommodations in school.
