Here's what parents are saying

"Since Kindergarten my son (now in 4th grade) struggled with learning to read despite me spending hours and hours trying to help him.  By 1st grade I knew there was something wrong but after discussing my suspicions about dyslexia with his teacher and other school staff, they told me there was no way he had dyslexia because he was good at math???  So by the end of 2nd grade he was so far behind that I decided to seek help outside the school.  I found U Can Learn and brought him in for testing.  My suspicions were confirmed, he had dyslexia.  We immediately started Interactive Metronome and then tutoring 2 hours a week.  My son loved his tutor and a year later is reading at grade level!  He radiates with a confidence I have never seen before.  What a positive experience this has been for both my son and I.  Because of U Can Learn the sky's the limit.  My son knows he can do anything!"

"My daughter had struggled in school for years.  We tried to get our public schools to test her for Dyslexia, but they claimed her grades were decent and that she didn't have any indication of a disability.  If they could only see the struggles we were having with her at home, including the long hours of homework.  We finally had her tested as a junior in high school and found out that she indeed has Dyslexia and Irlens Syndrome! U Can Learn helped her with tutoring and other remediation to fill in all the gaps in her learning.  In 6 months of consistent weekly tutoring, she is on or above grade level and is confident!  She has the tools she needs to be successful and move forward.  Even though she was an older student, U Can Learn helped her immensely!"

"We took our son to see a neuropsychologist as were had some concerns about his performance at school.  Among other things she diagnosed our son as having processing speed issues and she told us that there was nothing we could do about this.  Then we found out about Karla Jay at U Can Learn.  After a full evaluation of our son Karla recommended that he work with the Interactive Metronome.  After 4 weeks (3 times per week) of this we noticed dramatic changes in our son in a number of areas.  Firstly his reading skills improved markedly.  After spending most of the year at school on one or two reading levels he progressed through three levels in about 4 weeks.  His first time listening skills also improved as did his relationship with his three year old sister.  Prior to doing the Interactive Metronome our son seemed to be constantly annoyed by and with his little sister but afterwards he was calmer with her and much more patient and easygoing.  Another dramatic change has been in his co-ordination skills.  This has been most evident in games like soccer.  Whilst our son has always enjoyed soccer he often had trouble with the basics like kicking the ball in the right direction.  He has just completed a soccer camp where his report card said that he was talented for his age.  Quite simply we would not have believed the changes in our son had we not seen them for ourselves."

"We have been searching for a program for our son John and all of the research that we did on other programs felt like a bandage and not a solution. The U Can Learn program provides REAL solutions for children with reading and learning disabilities.  We are ecstatic that we have diagnosed the problem and that our son is going to be able to read and that he is finding a new way to learn. We have seen a huge improvement with our sons self-esteem and he knows now that everyone learns in a different way.  He enjoys coming to his tutoring sessions and is excited to do the Cogmed program at home!  If you are becoming discouraged because you are running into dead ends or you are not finding the answers that you need to help your child through the public school system this is where you need to be!  I know that this is a good program that will help your child to succeed!

Our son has a number of learning challenges. U CAN LEARN has been providing help in a variety of resources for our son for over 4 years. We keep coming back because the staff are truly motivated by helping the children succeed and we have not found such a welcome, adaptable, proactive and successful environment elsewhere."

"In an era where diagnoses and drugs are the predominant approach to working with children's learning challenges, there are few resources for parents who want to simply help their kids learn - drugs and diagnosis aside. U CAN LEARN is one of the few quality options we found that helps kids overcome a multitude of learning challenges. Our son benefited greatly in learning how to read and decode words. The sessions were stimulating and fun for him and we quickly saw a difference in his performance at school. We tried U CAN LEARN as an experiment, and it paid off in spades!"

"My son, now in the 5th grade, struggled in school since Kindergarten. I knew there was a bigger problem and after years of frustration I finally took matters into my own hands and had him tested to confirm my suspicions. Once U CAN LEARN diagnosed him correctly with dyslexia and a visual processing problem, his school could meet his specific needs. We were fortunate enough to find U CAN LEARN's and after meeting their friendly staff, we immediately enrolled him there for tutoring. From his first day at U CAN LEARN he has had a smile on his face that I hadn't seen in years. He finally enjoys going to school and interacting with his classmates!"

"U Can Learn has been an invaluable asset in our struggle to meet the needs of our children. Their knowledge and experience has helped enormously. With their help and the different programs they have available, our daughter has been able to overcome many difficulties and be successful in a regular 7th grade classroom. I am always recommending them to parents whose children are smart, but struggling."

"A teacher told me secretly about the Irlen Syndrome and pointed me toward U Can Learn! What a difference it has made to change just one tiny thing in his school day—using colored paper and overlays. No drugs for ADHD as suggested. He can finally look at a page without discomfort. U Can Learn has taken a child who hated school, hated teachers, and almost hated life in general and turned him completely around!  I shudder to think about where we would be if we hadn't found U Can Learn!"
